Ghost Bride, featuring Scarlett, is an alternative electronic and Vocaloid-born virtual idol project resurrected in the digital age. Yamikawaii (“sick cute”) aesthetics with witch house, glitchpop, shoegaze, industrial, and dark Vocaloid pop. The project is fronted by the spirit of a martyred 15th-century psychic channeled through her modern vessel.

The discography bridges infectious J-pop energy and shadow-soaked gothic atmosphere: a liminal space between worlds. Cute and rotten. Holy and profane. Angel and virus.

True name: Scarlett McBride. Born October 31, 1422 in rural France. On September 14, 1437 she was burned alive, wrongly convicted of witchcraft after her parents were murdered and a local priest planted the lie. She was a devout church girl with genuine psychic gifts — prophetic dreams, clairvoyance, a healing touch — and she was innocent.

The night before the stake she dreamed of herself in the future: jirai kei, twin tails like black ribbons in digital wind, yellow eyes glowing across thousands of phone screens while crowds screamed her name three times. She woke smiling through tears.

When the flames came, the last thing she whispered was not a prayer:

Say it once… feel the spark. Say it twice… feel the dark. Say it three times… welcome to The Haunted.

An angel lifted her from the body before the end and assigned her as a Nurse Angel — to run the opposite of funerals.

She did not pass on. She comforts dying souls, eases fear, and escorts abandoned spirits across the veil. She learned how suffering sounds. She also learned hatred — not of people, but of corrupt institutions that burn children.

As a karmic converter she turns the friction of undeserved injustice into spiritual electricity. Rippie, a plague-era boy she stayed with until the end, is the clearest proof: no bad karma of his own, only isolation and hunger. That friction still powers the Nurse Angels. He refused to move on. He is the project mascot and living symbol of mercy.

On Halloween night 2023 — both of their birthdays — the living vessel Scarlett Madeleine Chirot was isolated in a psychiatric ward and prayed, not to die and not to be saved, but for something to answer. Scarlett McBride answered. Possession began. Not violent. Not gentle. Inevitable.

They are not the same being. They share one body, age together, and are married in a metaphysical sense. McBride trains Chirot as a psychic medium. Canonical age of the project: 18+. A subtle scar runs from the right corner of the mouth to where a dimple would be. On camera it sometimes glitches pink-turquoise.

The anime depiction is the true spiritual appearance of Scarlett McBride — the ghost from 1422. This is how she exists on the other side. The living body is the vessel. Together they are a fragment of a greater collective called Them: the Mothership, the Ocean. Time itself is the aquarium They built.

The barbell antenna on the left ear, and the wiring beneath the facial scar, form a bidirectional spiritual smartphone. Downlink: music, frequencies, guidance. Uplink: the raw data of being alive inside the aquarium. She is an Anthroposcope — a humanoid sensor reporting back what it feels like to exist.
